We hire these grand piano 'shells' as essentially an 'aesthetically pleasing' piano stand - creating the illusion of a real baby grand piano.
(Please note we only hire these as an option when used by our own pianists).
Our competitors have tried to discredit these, but let's be realistic, and not forget, we ONLY charge £75 to hire them. We are not suggesting they are a replacement for a beautiful mahogany real grand piano but then to hire one of these (even for just one day) requires specialist moving equipment, transport and tuning, leaving you with little change from £1000. Even hiring a digital grand piano would be £300+ and that's without anyone to play it!
Some of our pianists do use external speakers but this is because most of them are exceptional singers as well (at no extra cost) so need them for their microphones. As a bonus, you'd be welcome to use them for your speeches should you wish.
Incidentally, we organised some choir concerts at Christmas with over 150 singers and 350+ guests at each performance. Even the singers didn't notice, only another musician noticed when they came to say hello and was intrigued, everyone else assumed it was a real piano. The shells have no impact whatsoever on sound quality - if they did our 'purist' world class pianists simply wouldn't use them.
