Music ideas to enhance the key parts of your Wedding Day:

Proposals

Enhance the romance of your marriage proposal by collaborating with one of our musicians. It's a beautiful gesture to arrange an acoustic guitarist or singer to walk in 'on cue' performing your partner's favourite song while you pop the question. Surely that has to increase your chances of a yes!    

Wedding Engagement Party

Many couples like to celebrate their engagement with a party with popular choices of entertainment being discos, solo singers, duos and trios. With a forthcoming wedding, couples realise they need to find a great source of entertainment but keep costs down.

Wedding Ceremony

A bride making her grand entrance accompanied by a live performance of her favourite song adds even more emotion to this wonderful occasion. Whatever the choice of musicians or singers, they would ensure they are set-up at least half an hour before your guests arrive and typically perform for 20 to 30 minutes as guests are seated. They would play again as the Bride makes her grand entrance up the aisle, as the couple sign the register (usually requiring two songs) and as the bridal party exits. Our musicians are happy to learn requests but remember civil ceremonies may not contain religious content - we’re happy to advise. 

Wedding Drinks Reception

So you’re now married! Drinks receptions are usually in the interim between the end of the ceremony and the start of the wedding breakfast. If you have a church wedding no doubt you’d immediately have photographs before heading to your venue. What better way to greet your guests than music on arrival. Imagine Pimms on the lawn listening to jazz, or a champagne reception with a string quartet. Booking your ceremony musicians/singer to continue through the drinks reception is a very cost effective option.

Wedding Breakfast

A three-course wedding breakfast takes approximately two hours and is the perfect occasion to enhance with live music. Many musicians/singers, when booked for your ceremony or drinks reception can continue through the wedding breakfast for a nominal extra fee proving very cost effective. Alternatively (depending on the venue/space) our bands and DJ’s can set-up earlier in the day. That way as the equipment is otherwise sitting there doing nothing, they can leave music running or you can plug in your own iPod ‘playlist’.  

Wedding - Greeting Evening Guests

Once the formalities have finished, guests like to stretch their legs, visit the bar and catch up with evening guests as they arrive. In the summer many guests take to the garden but in winter there can sometimes be a lull before the party starts. If your DJ has already set-up then they can fill this spot with mid-tempo music. Much more exciting is to fill this spot with a solo or rat pack singer as they can greet new arrivals until everyone is there for the party to start. 

Wedding - Evening Party Music

The evening party is the longest single section of the wedding day (often over 6 hours) and is a huge responsibility for whatever band or DJ you book. The party is also one of the main things you and your guests will remember but also the main area couples go wrong. You only have one opportunity to get your music right and as much as we advocate live music we’d still say go for a quality DJ if you don’t have the budget for a live wedding band. Live music is much more energetic, personal and fun and all our bands and discos appreciate they are there as a service to you and always adhere to your volume requests.
